Meet the Crew

Marty Canavan

Laser programmer.  Marty learned the laser business by working with numerous laser companies, and then touring with Ronnie James Dio, Motley Crue, and a Rap tour that included LL Cool J, Iced T, and etc.  Marty has programmed shows for Corporate Events, Theme Parks, and Special Events.  He currently programmed the lasers and lighting for the Oklahoma Centennial, the beginning celebration of a year long event.  This event used 10 laser systems with lighting and video projections on the buildings in downtown Tulsa Oklahoma.  This was all programmed with  Smpte time code.  Marty also programs the long running extravaganza  “Lonestar Spectacular” for Six Flags Fiesta Texas which features Lasers, pyro and Pani Projections.

Scott Cunningham 

Scott came to us by way of Lasermedia.  He had worked with Lasermedia for years until they eventually closed.  During the time he was there he did tours with Pink Floyd, Rush, and the Jackson’s.  He is well known in the laser industry and has clients that have been with him through the years.  He has a vast knowledge of the laser touring industry and laser business.

Steve Campbell 

Steve is head of technical.  He also learned the laser business by touring with such acts as Poison, Vanilla Ice, and Warrant. He knows the technical workings of lasers and keeps in the equipment in top condition.  Steve designed our Yag lasers systems and projectors.  They are compact and self reliant.

Mike Gilbert  

Mike learned about lasers when he was working for a small company in California.  He has complete knowledge of Yag Laser systems and has been part of building our Yags.  Mike went on tour, for YLS, with Aerosmith in the fall season of  2006.  This tour went throughout the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.  We provided 2 Yag Lasers and 1 White Light Spectra Physics laser.

Rob Hassler 

Rob has recently joined us and has been a great help in teaming up with Mike on jobs.  He has knowledge of the laser business and also has musical ability which helps in the laser programming business.

Martin Canavan 

Martin sells the shows for Lasers by YLS.  His experience with productions shows and special effects is well known in the industry.  As entertainment director of the Queen Mary in 1985, Martin produced a show in the Spruce Goose about space flight.  At that time he hired a laser company for the show and immediately saw the potential to incorporate laser effects into show production.  Since then  he has produced laser shows, production shows with laser effects and multimedia shows featuring laser effects for Corporate, Theme Parks, Casino, and  Special Event clients.

Luann Canavan 

Luann is a musician, songwriter and music editor.  She has written music for corporate and casino clients and currently does the music editing for laser shows and laser openings.
 
Blake Putnam  

Blake , currently studying engineering at Cal State Long Beach, works with the technical crew on laser maintenance.  He has also been the operator on some of our laser shows.
