Information about YLS:

Lasers by YLS features information regarding our laser company, laser systems, laser effects and laser graphics, shows, our technical crew, and will offer many laser photos and a list of  some of our past clients.

In 1985, we started producing shows that featured laser effects.  This was just the beginning.  By 1990 we were buying lasers, building laser projectors, scanners, mirrors, and all that is needed to complete our laser systems.  We were lucky to have people working for us that knew about the technical part of these systems. We also had Marty (our son) who learned the laser business from the ground up.  He had a talent for programming and, because of his musical ability he found he could program the lasers to coincide with the music track.   And now, it is the combination of Marty, Steve, Scott, Mike, Rob, Martin, Luann and Blake who help make Lasers by YLS a successful company.  Check out "Crew" to find out more about this great group of people.

Press clippings and comments:

Rolling Stone: Rock & Roll Daily:

VH1 Rock Honors

A Tribute to The Who

"The Who's first moments onstage, firing up the green lasers and "Baba O'Riley", Roger Daltrey blowing harmonica as Pete Townshend slashed at his guitar with muscular windmill strokes."

Patrick Murphy

VH1 Rock Honors

A Tribute to The Who

It was a terrific blend of The Who's wonderful musical intro and the spot-on laser effects to open the song "Baba O' Riley".  Having Roger Daltrey backlit only by the lasers was impressive.

Review-Journal, Las Vegas:

National Finals Rodeo

“Lariats, lassoes and lasers.  A year ago, “laser” didn't belong in the same sentence with a pair of ridin' and ropin' rodeo terms.  Welcome to the new rodeo, where laser light shows and music sounding more like rock that Johnny Cash have been featured in opening ceremonies throughout the National Finals Rodeo at the Thomas and Mack Center.”

Las Vegas Sun:

Basketball Opening

“A pregame spectacular featuring smoke bombs, fireworks, lasers, and a skywalker put the fans in a festive mood and proved once again that Las Vegas is second to none in hoopla.

Los Angeles Times:

Universal Theme Park

Welcome to my Nightmare Laser show, a halloween you'll never forget.”

Thanks - Laser Rentals

“The laser portion of the Oklahoma Centennial Opening Ceremony was a great success and due in great part to the efforts of  Marty Canavan.  The show itself has received excellent reviews and the overall feel of the show was reflected in Marty Canavan's ability and expertise in programming the various laser systems spread throughout the entire downtown area in Tulsa, Oklahoma.”
